Seeking London Females Face-to-face Group - Meeting up

As time passing I cant help but feel even more alone and isolated in my partners SA. Lockdown / Covid-19, has not helped admittedly. I am based in south London looking to meet up with a female who is also experiencing difficulties in their relationship - compulsive masturbation , porn and so on. Or if anyone can point me in the direction of great groups, anything really (although preferably free), I would be most greatful

Dear Bea11, sorry to hear you are feeling so isolated.  It is incredibly hard knowing who to talk to about SA.  Unfortunately the Laurel Centre is unable to offer face to face support.  But they do an excellent online workshop which supports partners.  Here is the link : https://thelaurelcentre.co.uk/courses/online-partner-workshop

Hopefully another partner will read this post who lives near you and you could meet in a park or a coffee shop for some face to face support.   Ginny

Hi Bea11, I’m not in or near London I’m afraid , but hope you can find some support. I’m beginning to think I would really benefit from having some real life connections with people who have shared similar experiences, as other friendships feel a bit hollow right now with this huge issue that we can’t talk openly about... good luck x

I did do the partner course with Paula Hall in June last year. I met  other lovely ladies. I’m still messaging and regularly telephoning one of them. Our stories are so similar and it’s such a support.

Hi, I can travel to Cambridge if there is anyone else who is also able to travel?  It would be such a relief to be in the company of people who really know what the inside of my head looks like.

I agree completely Domino69- I’d love to meet up and honestly would travel a good distance to do so... I wonder if there is a way we could do a zoom meetup whilst it’s so difficult to travel and meet? Will give it some thought...

Hi, I have only just seen this but I would love to meet up too. Probably best after lockdown but there must be a way that we can share our details to arrange something soon. If you are OK with this I will ask group admin?

Meeting up.

Clearly as a Forum member you can use the private mail function within the Forum, but this is not recommended by the Laurel Centre.  i.e. Do NOT give out personal details.

If you do decide to meet self-care is especially important. Set up the first meeting in a public place (which will of course be after Covid Lockdowns) and then decide what information you wish to share.

Administration would however suggest you do a Partner Workshop (or equivalent) together, and that will help with managing contacts, give additional support and allow you to keep in touch afterwards.
