IamEnough
The Laurel Centre are running a 2 x 3 hour session workshop for Partners in October- I just wanted to bring it to your attention, (I’m not getting paid to promote it in any way 😆) I’ve signed up as I’m desperate to learn as much as possible and find as much support as possible in these difficult times. I’m beginning to realise that this is a life long journey ahead of me- towards healing, and living a full life in the future, whatever that might look like. I know if I don’t consciously work at this I will return to my default position of either denying the situation or having a full-on breakdown. And I thought life was meant to grow easier as we get older?? 🙈😢 https://thelaurelcentre.co.uk/courses/online-partner-workshop

IamEnough
Hi Rose, I’m glad you’re taking this step to support yourself. I look forward to seeing you there. I’m doing ok. Husband has agreed to take a week off work (he’s an extreme workaholic on top of everything else) We are just trying to regain some sense of what our lives could be if we overcome this nightmare. love to you and anyone else reading this and struggling x 3
Bea11
These work shops sounds great. Sadly, I do not have the money to afford to join at this time. Can anyone offer any advice on other free/ to little cost support groups in the mean time? I’m kinda desperate... thank u all for your contribution

Domino69
Hi, just tried to sign up and this one is full. There are so many of us going through this and the course being full just shows we are not alone.
IamEnough
Hi Bea11 and Domino69- there is something called S Anon that offers a free zoom meet up 3 times a week, on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening.. I’ll post the link. I don’t know whether it would be everyone’s cup of tea- I’ve only joined a couple so far and I’m still trying to get the measure of it! It’s a support group for partners based on the 12 step programme as used by Alcoholics Anonymous. Just to be in the presence of others who are going through the same as us is hugely comforting. And the steps do give you a chance to work through your issues in a structured manner. You can remain anonymous if you want, with your video off, though it’s nice to see faces 😊 . https://s-anonuk.org/ https://s-anonuk.org/online-and-phone-meetings
Ginny
If you unable to afford the workshop, the Laurel Centre do offer a bursary fund and also the option to pay for the course in installments. I am sure they will run another workshop pretty quickly after the October one.
Bea11
Dear Iamenough & Ginny this feedback has been super useful! i will check out the 12step group and give it a go As for the bursary, in order to qualify for this what are the specifications? thanks again! Ginny
I am not too sure what the specifications are to qualify for the bursary. I would suggest dropping the Laurel Centre a line and one of the team will get back to you.
